Hi there, I'm Jenna a.k.a. No Whey Lady!
Food and myself haven't always gotten along. I have a highly sensitive body and suffer from multiple food allergies and intolerances. Events that are supposed to be fun, community building, cultural, and family oriented are often stress inducing for this reason. I must constantly ask what is in the food, how it was prepared, etc. I first created this site as a place where I could chronicle my dairy-free, gluten-free, corn-free recipes, travel tips, and musings...but it has transformed into something more than that.
Since starting No Whey Lady, I have enrolled (and halfway completed) Bauman College's Nutrition Consultant program to better learn what was going on with my crazy bloated system, started a new 9-5 job in the world of clean beauty, gone off my hormonal birth control pill, and found a functional medicine doctor I love and have completed several different protocols with her. All of these learning, experiences, and lifestyle changes have changed the way I view my "food issues." I've come to realize that I don't just have food allergies. This has led me on not only a gut health journey, if you will, but a holistic wellness journey.
While I use real food as a tool, this journey has to do with a whole lot more than just what I put in my mouth, it has to do with the mind, the body, and the spirit, too. Movement, mental state, and lifestyle choices paired with the proper food fuel have changed and continue to change my life for the better and I'm so excited to share my expanded journey with you.
